Beatoven.ai Is Now Live on Make.com: Here is how to use our API

Make.com allows users to connect different apps and APIs in a visual, drag-and-drop interface to automate complex processes. With Beatoven.ai now live on their platform, users can easily plug in our generation API into their creative workflows—whether for podcast production, content generation, audiobooks, or marketing.

In just a few clicks, users on Make.com can now generate original, royalty-free background music using Beatoven.ai’s API, and pair it seamlessly with their content workflows.

How to get started with Betoven.ai’s API?

Follow these steps to create your API key on Beatoven.ai

  • Head to profile on the top right corner of the screen to sign up for the API, select API from drop-down menu.
  • You’ll be directed to a new screen, click on ‘New Token’ and you’ll unlock an API key with 50 free credits to use in your workflow
  • You can now access documentation, track API usage and buy credits

    Our experiment with Beatoven.ai’s API on make.com

    As an example of how our API can be used, we created a fully automated storytelling tool called One-Click Kids Audiobook Generator. It’s a simple web app where users just hit “Create a new story,” and within moments receive:

  • A 1-minute children’s story
  • A voiceover narration of that story
  • And original background music scored specifically to match the story’s mood

    • All of this is powered by an elegant automation built on Make.com using three key APIs: Gemini (for story generation), Murph (for voice synthesis), and Beatoven.ai (for music).

    How It Works: The Automation Behind the Magic

    Before we proceed to explain how it works, here is a screenshot of the workflow we created on Make.com


    Here’s a quick breakdown of how the system functions behind the scenes:

    1.User clicks “Create a new story” on the web app, triggering a webhook in our automation workflow on Make.com.

    2.Gemini API generates a 1-minute children’s story (up to 3000 characters), carefully formatted for JSON compatibility. The prompt given to gemini on the backend is as follows:

    “Create an original children’s story. It should be roughly 1 minute long and not exceeding 3000 characters in length. Only output the story. Do not have new lines. Do not use double quotes.”

    The story generated will be different every time and there is a limitation on characters for smooth function in voice generation on Murph AI

    3. Once the story is generated, a second Gemini API call creates a short, 20–30 word music prompt based on the story’s theme for Beatoven.ai

    4. Next step is to integrate API with Make.com, here is a detailed guide on how it works –

  • Once we set up Webhooks and Gemini API, click on the ‘+’ to add another tool/workflow. Select Beatoven.ai from the list of tools.
  • Click on create a connection and Enter the API key generated to link the API

  • Select the ‘Result’ of your Gemini API as the prompt and choose your desired format


  • Now that the API is set, click on adding another module and select ‘Tools’ and choose the option to ‘Delay’ the automation by 52 seconds. This delay is added to give the API time to compose the track.


  • Once this has been added to the flow, add another module of beatoven.ai and select ‘Check composition status’ followed by the addition of ‘Task ID’


  • Add an HTTP module and select the option to ‘Get a file’. Add ‘track_url’ and follow further steps


    • 6. Murph API then synthesizes speech from the generated story text with a 34-second delay to ensure smooth processing.

    7. Once both audio assets are ready, an email is sent to the user containing the story, the prompt, and download links for both the music and narration.

    8. The user interface plays the music and voiceover together with smart volume balancing—as the narration gets louder, the music automatically softens, and vice versa.

    9. If anything fails, the app provides easy options for retrying the story generation.

    It’s an end-to-end experience made possible by the flexibility of Make.com and the creativity unlocked by Beatoven’s generative audio engine.
